The Russian war in Ukraine began February 2022 and has lasted over two years with waves of attacks devastating civilians. Continuous attacks on medical facilities have occurred, impeding access to essential health services for so many.
This research study plays a foundational role in understanding the impacts on the lives of medical professionals who are trying to live and work in an evolving, protracted armed urban conflict. As over 83 percent of healthcare workers in Ukraine are women, this study focused solely on female medical workers, their lived experiences, and coping strategies employed while trying to conduct their work during a time of active conflict.
