Exercise Design Workshop

This three day activity-based course is designed to prepare participants to be the in-house disaster exercise design expert for their facility. This training will focused on both discussion and operations-based exercise development.
Participants will earn what they need to do to comply with CMS, Joint Commission, and other regulatory bodies’ required exercises.
Registration is Open
Participants will learn:
- 7 types of exercises including considerations involving cost, time frame and personnel
- Overview of a Comprehensive Exercise Plan
- Exercise Design Process
- Exercise Facilitation
- After Action Reports and Improvement Plans as required by accrediting agencies
- Exercise documentation including Situation Manual, Exercise Plan, Controller/Evaluator Handbook, Master Scenario Events List (MSEL), and Evaluator Tools
- How to write a Tabletop and Full-Scale Exercise
Participants will spend more than half their time in each course in skill building activities. Working in teams, participants will:
- Develop and conduct a tabletop exercise
- Participate in a Functional Exercise
- Develop an operations-based exercise (Full-Scale Exercise)
